BCorp

Description

B Corp, is an international certificate awarded by the non-profit organisation "B Lab" to companies that make a positive impact on society and the environment. "B Corp" therefore stands for a company (corporation) that is committed to adding value for all ("Benefit for all"). Through certification, companies commit to considering the impact of their decisions on all employees, customers and suppliers and voluntarily comply with verified standards relating to society and the environment. This makes it a holistic certification that applies to the whole company and therefore does not refer only to sub-areas.

To become B Corp certified, companies must complete the B Impact Assessment, which includes 200 questions in the areas of leadership, employees, community, environment and customers. The questions must be completed by the company itself and are then subject to a review process. Companies that complete the assessment for the first time receive an average of 51 points, which is below the minimum of 80 points required for certification. Worldwide, almost 6000 companies are currently B Corp certified.
